A healthy mouth starts from a young age. The things we learn as kids stick with us as we grow up, so our mission is simple. At My Kids Happy Teeth, we want to encourage kids to develop healthy mouths, great oral hygiene habits, and a healthy attitude toward dentistry.
That starts with a comfortable, safe “dental home” for kids. Dr. Engineer, Dr. Raj, and our team love working with kids, and we know that dentistry can be intimidating for your little ones. But with child-friendly explanations about dentistry, a patient-focused attitude, and amenities like TVs and nitrous oxide sedation, we can make sure your child has an amazing experience, and can learn to love going to the dentist!
Dr. Engineer was originally born in India, in a small town called Bharuch. At the age of 16, she decided that her passion for science and healthcare would be best served in dentistry. This drove her to enter dental school in India, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree in 2011. After graduation, she moved to the US, and attended FIU in Miami to obtain a Master of Public Health degree. Then, she obtained her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree in Buffalo, New York, graduating in 2017. Now, Dr. Cheryl Engineer Bhatt graduated as a pediatric dentist from Loma Linda University June 2024. She passed her boards and graduated with her Pediatric Dentistry as well as a Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD).
Dr. Engineer has more than over ten years of experience delivering expert dental care made just for kids. She and her husband, Dr. Raj are proud to be able to co-own a dental practice where they can make their vision of compassionate, kid-friendly care a reality. When she’s not in the office, you’ll find Dr. Engineer on a run, in the gym, or trying out new restaurants and cuisines around town.

Dr. Bhatt has recently been honored with induction into two prestigious dental societies in 2024. He was inducted into the Pierre Fauchard Academy at the California Dental Convention in Anaheim (May 2024), and alongside Dr. Engineer, into the International College of Dentists (ICD) in Nashville, Tennessee on September 7, 2024. Only 1% of dentists worldwide are inducted into Pierre Fauchard Academy. For the ICD, only 3% of dentists globally are nominated and inducted. Dr. Raj graduated from MP Dental College in 2013 with his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS). After which he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) by attending the Advanced Standing International Dental Program at the University of Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco.
Dr. Raj has exclusively worked on pediatric patients for his entire career as a Dentist. After accumulating enough experience as associate dentists at pediatric dental offices around town, Dr. Raj and Dr. Engineer decided to open up their own practice. Both Dr. Raj and Dr. Engineer wanted more independence, and the ability to create a child-focused dental practice that would provide a truly top-notch patient experience.
My Kids Happy Teeth plays an active role in the community to help uplift the oral AND overall health for the kids by participating, volunteering, and donating to community events/fundraisers around town. Both Drs. Raj and Engineer are part of the Advisory Committee for 'Operation Smiles' in the Kern County Public Health Department. Dr. Raj is deeply involved in the dental community, having served on the Board of Managers for the California Dental Association in the past. When he’s not at work, he enjoys spending time with Dr. Engineer. Dr. Raj is passionate about staying current with the latest research and loves reading books on longevity, fitness, health, diet, nutrition, and functional medicine to provide the best care for his patients. Outside of his professional interests, he enjoys traveling, going to the gym, listening to music, and even making music.
Dr. Daniel Estacio brings more than 30 years of experience working with children to our practice and we are thrilled to have him at our office on Mondays and Thursdays. He is so excited to get to know your child and set them up for lifelong health through expert, one-on-one care. Dr. Sun is an experienced dentist who has the both excellent skills and very gentle hands. She communicates well with her patients and her work is always outstanding. She has a great deal of knowledge. She is our main surgical/treatment doctor on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and some Saturdays. We are excited to elevate the care that we can provide by adding her to our team!
From the moment you and your children enter our office, you'll feel right at home. We’ve got a comfortable waiting area with a kid’s play area, toys, and a balloon station, as well as complimentary beverages for you and your family.
We also have TVs on all the walls, so your kids can watch their favorite shows during their appointment. And once they're done with their treatment, your child will get a toy and balloon goodie bag as a reward! They're sure to leave with a smile.

We use the latest technology to ensure the best possible care, such as digital x-rays. Digital x-rays are safer than film-based x-rays and are also more comfortable for kids. We also offer nitrous oxide sedation to keep your little ones feeling safe and comfortable.
At My Kids Happy Teeth, we strive to make our community happy and healthy in as many ways as possible. That is why we are proud to give every child that comes to our office a special book to take home. After their visit, they'll be able to pick out a book of their choosing from our Teeth Library. Our patients will be able to take a book home, enjoy it with their family, and then bring it back the next time they visit to make the next patient smile. This is just one more way we are working to brighten little smiles every day.
